The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr Ali Alimasuya Rabiu , FNSE, F.ASCE, FAEng, MFR has congratulated Engr. Prof. Segun Aina, MNSE, on his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In a congratulatory message, the NSE President described Prof. Aina’s appointment as a significant recognition of his outstanding contributions to engineering, technology, academia and national development, expressing confidence that his wealth of experience will bring further innovation and efficiency to the operations of JAMB.
The NSE President noted that Prof. Aina is an active member of the Nigerian Institute of ICT Engineers, a Division of the Society. He described him as a distinguished engineer, academic and systems expert whose professional career reflects the growing importance of engineering and technology in transforming public institutions and strengthening national development.

According to the NSE President, Prof. Aina’s expertise in computer engineering, digital infrastructure, systems optimisation and institutional transformation places him in a strong position to provide visionary leadership at JAMB at a time when technology-driven reforms are increasingly essential to improving the integrity, efficiency and accessibility of Nigeria’s admissions and examination processes.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recognising the competence and professional capacity of an accomplished Nigerian engineer and academic for the important national assignment, noting that the appointment further demonstrates the critical role of engineering and technological expertise in addressing contemporary challenges in the education sector. The Presidency announced Prof. Segun Aina as successor to Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, whose tenure as Registrar of JAMB expired on July 31, 2026.
The NSE President wished Prof. Aina a successful tenure and assured him of the continued support and goodwill of the Nigerian Society of Engineers as he takes on the new responsibility.
He also expressed confidence that Prof. Aina will deploy his professional expertise and leadership experience to consolidate the achievements of JAMB and contribute to further reforms that will strengthen Nigeria’s tertiary education admission system.
