
A young man in Kano State has reportedly cut off one of his fingers after allegedly being offered N80 million to provide a body part from a living person.
The incident was disclosed by the spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command in a series of posts shared on his official Facebook page on Wednesday.
According to the police, the man went to a police station and reported that someone had offered him N80 million to provide a human finger.
The man allegedly told the police that after he could not find anyone willing to give up a finger, he decided to cut off his own finger with a knife and gave it to the person who made the offer.

He later reported the matter to the police after the alleged recipient refused to pay the promised N80 million.
Following the complaint, police arrested the alleged recipient of the body part, who is currently being detained at the Kano State Police Command headquarters in Bompai.
The suspect reportedly told investigators that he did not request a human finger but had asked for the bone from the forearm of a living person.
Police said the severed finger was recovered as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the bizarre incident.
