The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four persons for allegedly assaulting and publicly humiliating a man accused of defrauding a Point of Sale (POS) operator through a fake bank transfer.
The suspects were arrested after a viral video showed the victim, identified as Boluwaji Temidayo, being beaten and forced to dance with a POS machine placed on his head.
Confirming the development on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the victim reported the incident at the Okuta Elerinla Police Station, alleging that he was attacked, filmed without his consent and that the footage was later shared across social media platforms.
According to the police, the assault occurred on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Jimoh said the command immediately launched a technology-driven investigation, deploying digital intelligence and forensic tools to identify those responsible for the assault and the circulation of the video.

The investigation led to the arrest of Gbemisola Ariyo, Babatunde Eniola, Adams Tobiloba and Fasusi Bunmi, who were alleged to have participated in the assault and the recording and distribution of the video.
The police condemned the act of jungle justice, warning members of the public against taking the law into their own hands.The command urged residents to report criminal allegations to security agencies instead of resorting to mob action, adding that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other individuals connected to the incident.
