An 18-month-old child was killed in Ondo State after an attack at a farm settlement in Idanre, headquarters of Idanre Local Government Area.
The child’s father, Bright Kalu, a farmer at Agoti Settlement, said his wife was attacked along with their children while he was working on another farm. Kalu said his wife was left in charge of the children at their camp.

Kalu said he returned from a nearby camp where he had gone to buy food items and met his wife in distress. She told him someone had attacked her and that she managed to rescue three of their children, but one was missing.
Kalu and his elder brother searched the area and later found the child’s body behind their house. The child had been beheaded.
The police public relations officer in Ondo State, Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident and said an arrest had been made. He added that investigation is ongoing.
