A 47-year-old technician, Idris Clement, has been tragically killed during a suspected armed robbery attack in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Friday at the Shagari area, where a gang of about four armed robbers stormed the community around 1 a.m., attacking residents and carting away valuables.
According to sources, the attackers had already robbed two houses before forcing their way into Clement’s residence.
In a bid to protect his family, the technician confronted one of the assailants, unaware of the number of armed accomplices involved.
Eyewitness accounts revealed that Clement was brutally attacked with axes and cutlasses before one of the robbers shot him. The attackers fled immediately after the shooting, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to a hospital but was later confirmed dead due to excessive blood loss.
