
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged armed robbery that reportedly left a family in Gadau Town counting losses estimated at about ₦4 million.
According to the police, the incident occurred in the early hours of June 8, 2026, when five armed men allegedly invaded the residence of a 28-year-old man. The attackers were said to have forced their way into the victim’s bedroom, threatened him and his wife with dangerous weapons, tied them up, and made away with several valuable items.

The stolen property reportedly included a Jincheng motorcycle, five Android mobile phones, ten sets of wrappers, ₦1 million in cash, three wristwatches, and a cap, with the total value estimated at ₦4 million.
Following a report of the incident, detectives launched an intelligence-led investigation that led to the arrest of two suspects, identified as 20-year-old Salisu Umar of Gadau and 20-year-old Sadiq Shehu from Azare in Katagum Local Government Area.
Police said the victim’s wife later identified one of the suspects during an identification parade, alleging that he was among the men who entered her room and forced her to open the main gate to allow the other attackers into the compound.
The Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the officers involved in the operation and directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
He assured residents that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the gang, adding that all those found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law. The police also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide useful information that could assist security agencies in tackling crime across the state.
