Brazil legend Cafu has identified the team he believes will win the 2026 FIFA World Cup following his country’s exit from the competition.
The former Brazil captain admitted he had expected the Seleção to challenge for the title, but their hopes were dashed after a 2-1 defeat to Norway in the Round of 16. Erling Haaland scored twice for the Norwegians, while Neymar’s strike was not enough to prevent Brazil’s elimination.
With Brazil out of the tournament, Cafu has shifted his support to Colombia, insisting the South American side has what it takes to go all the way.

Speaking to reporters, the former AC Milan defender did not hesitate when asked which nation he expects to lift the World Cup trophy.
“Colombia,” Cafu replied.
He praised Colombia’s performances so far in the tournament but warned that their next opponents, Switzerland, would provide a stern challenge.
“The Colombian team is currently performing strongly on the field, but their next opponent, Switzerland, should not be underestimated,” Cafu said.
Colombia will now aim to justify Cafu’s confidence as they continue their World Cup campaign, hoping to secure a place in the quarter-finals and move one step closer to winning their first FIFA World Cup title.
