
The Bauchi State Police Command has strengthened security measures ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2026, with the deployment of personnel and the release of emergency contact lines for residents.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful in Bauchi State and across Nigeria, while commending residents for their continued cooperation in maintaining peace and order.
To ensure a hitch-free celebration, the Command has deployed security operatives across key locations, including Eid prayer grounds, major highways, recreational centres, and other public areas within the state’s 20 Local Government Areas.
The deployment includes conventional police officers, tactical units, and traffic personnel working in collaboration with other security agencies and local vigilante groups.

The Police Command also issued a stern warning against activities that could disrupt public peace during and after the festivities.
It cautioned against thuggery, reckless driving, and the use of fireworks or knockouts, stressing that offenders will be dealt with decisively.
Parents and guardians were further advised to closely monitor their children and wards to prevent involvement in unlawful acts that could lead to arrest and prosecution.

The Commissioner reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring safety before, during, and after the Sallah celebrations, while also praying for peace, blessings, and protection for all residents.
