The Jigawa State Police Command has successfully foiled a planned kidnapping operation along the Jigawa–Bauchi border, leading to the arrest of two suspected members of a criminal syndicate.
According to a statement issued in Dutse by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, the operation followed credible intelligence received on May 23, 2026.
The suspects, identified as Adamu Gari, 55, from Zabo Kafi Village in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, and Abdullahi Adamu, 40, from Fatiske Village in Jama’are LGA of Bauchi State, were apprehended before the planned abduction could be executed.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, alongside other accomplices currently at large, had earlier been involved in kidnapping two individuals in Jama’are town.

On May 22, detectives from the State Intelligence Department apprehended three suspects connected to armed robbery activities in the Hadejia Emirate.
A search conducted at one of the suspect’s residences led to the recovery of a locally fabricated AK-47 rifle.
