
Suspected armed attackers have reportedly stormed a Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) office in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, in a late-night assault that left security operatives disarmed and raised fresh concerns over worsening insecurity in the region.
Gunmen suspected to be terrorists on Tuesday night attacked the Nigeria Immigration Service office located along the Ogbomoso–Ilorin Motorway, near the NNPC filling station.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 10pm while commercial activities were still ongoing at the nearby Ayanyan Cattle Market, a busy trading hub in the area.
The armed men were said to have overwhelmed officers on duty during the coordinated attack before dispossessing them of their firearms and fleeing the scene.
The exact number of weapons taken has not yet been confirmed.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities had not issued an official statement confirming the full details of the incident, including possible casualties or injuries.
The spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said the command had not yet received a formal briefing on the attack but assured that updates would be provided once verified information becomes available.
Security agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, are yet to release an official reaction regarding the invasion or the identities of the attackers.
The incident adds to growing concerns over attacks on security formations across parts of Nigeria, as calls intensify for improved surveillance and rapid response mechanisms in vulnerable locations.
