Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have killed two suspected kidnappers and arrested another during a gun duel at their hideout in Karshi, on the border between Abuja and Nasarawa State.
According to a statement on Wednesday by FCT Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh, the operation was carried out on May 3 following credible intelligence that led officers to the gang’s location. The suspects opened fire upon sighting the police team, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire.
During the confrontation, the gang leader, Baba Ibrahim alias “Tsoho,” and another member, Isah Shehu, were neutralized by the officers. Three other members escaped with suspected bullet wounds, while one suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

A search of the hideout led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, one pistol, and 17 rounds of live ammunition. Preliminary investigations identified the syndicate as including Khalid, Dan Geskiya, Mohammadu Mai Tsage, Isah Shehu, and one Dogo, with Baba Ibrahim as the leader.
The police said the group has been linked to multiple kidnapping incidents across Gwagwalada, Nyanya, Jikwoyi, and Karshi, with at least 12 victims abducted in recent months. Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects as investigations continue.
