The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Adeleke defeated his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, to secure another term as governor of the state.
According to the final results announced by the State Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, Adeleke polled 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji recorded 444,815 votes.
The candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Najeem Salaam, came third with 17,180 votes.
Adeleke won in 19 of the 30 local government areas in the state, while Oyebamiji secured victory in 11 LGAs.
The election was conducted on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with voters across the state casting their ballots to choose the next governor.
The final declaration followed the collation of results from the various local government areas at the INEC collation centre in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The victory gives Adeleke another four-year mandate to continue leading the state. It also marks a major political development, as he contested the election under the Accord Party after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party.
Adeleke had previously won the 2022 governorship election on the platform of the PDP before his political realignment ahead of the 2026 poll.
The result places Adeleke among the politicians who have secured consecutive governorship victories in the state.
Following the declaration, supporters of the governor celebrated the outcome, while political stakeholders called for unity and peaceful governance after the closely contested election.
With the announcement by INEC, Adeleke has been formally returned as governor of Osun State for another four-year term.
