Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have killed two suspected kidnappers and arrested one during a coordinated raid on a criminal hideout in the Karshi area of Abuja.
The operation, which was carried out on May 3, 2026, targeted a six-man kidnapping syndicate allegedly linked to several abduction cases within the FCT and neighbouring communities.
According to a statement released by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the raid followed credible intelligence gathered by security operatives. The police stormed the gang’s hideout located along the border between Abuja and Nasarawa State.
The statement revealed that the suspects opened fire on the operatives upon sighting them, leading to a fierce gun battle.
During the exchange, the alleged gang leader identified as Baba Ibrahim, popularly known as “Tsoho,” alongside another suspect, Isah Shehu, were killed, while three other gang members reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds.
One suspect was successfully apprehended during the operation.
Police also recovered two AK-47 rifles, one pistol, and 17 rounds of live ammunition from the hideout.
