
Troops attached to the 29 Battalion under the Joint Task Force South-South, Operation Delta Safe, have uncovered an illegal refining site in Rivers State and recovered about 600 litres of suspected stolen crude oil.
The operation reportedly took place around Asa community in Oyigbo Local Government Area during an ongoing crackdown on crude oil theft and illegal bunkering activities in the Niger Delta.

Security sources disclosed that the troops discovered a large cooking pot and several sacks containing the suspected stolen crude oil at the site during the raid.
According to reports, the recovered items were handled in line with operational procedures guiding anti-oil theft operations, while no arrest or confrontation was recorded during the exercise.
The military has continued to intensify efforts against illegal refining and other forms of economic sabotage across the region.
