Troops of the 233 Tank Battalion have arrested a driver after intercepting a vehicle conveying 11 empty Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) cylinders and a Greco open-loop kit in Borno State.
The vehicle was stopped at about 1pm on September 6, 2026, during a routine stop-and-search operation at the Mega Checkpoint.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the items were being transported without the required security clearance.

Following the interception, troops detained the driver and recovered the 11 CNG cylinders along with the Greco open-loop kit from the vehicle.
The military is reportedly investigating the circumstances surrounding the transportation of the items and why the required clearance had not been obtained.
The driver and the recovered materials remain in military custody as investigations continue.
