
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old man, Nsikak Kingsley, for allegedly beating his father, Adone Peter, to death in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area of the state.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh.
According to the statement, the tragic incident occurred following a heated argument between the suspect and his 65-year-old father, which escalated into a violent confrontation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the altercation turned physical, during which the victim sustained severe injuries, particularly to the head.

He was immediately rushed to a medical facility for treatment but was later confirmed dead by attending doctors.
Police authorities disclosed that the suspect was apprehended after his brother reported the incident at a nearby police station, prompting swift action by operatives.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Felix Ohagwu, has assured the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated and that justice will be served.
