A fire outbreak has destroyed property and household appliances in a bungalow at Okenwa Housing Estate, near the Anambra State Government House in Awka.
The incident occurred on Sunday, with the Anambra State Fire Service confirming that no casualties were recorded.
According to the service, preliminary observations suggested that an electrical spark might have triggered the fire, although the exact cause had yet to be confirmed.
Firefighters responded to a distress call at about 9:40 a.m. and successfully extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring buildings.
The service noted that the proximity of the affected structures increased the risk of the fire spreading to adjoining properties.
