Suspected terrorists have abducted six Almajiri pupils following an attack on Unguwar Gere community in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to local sources, the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday as the children were returning from a nearby farm. The pupils were reportedly just a short distance from reaching their village when the armed attackers intercepted and seized them.
Residents from neighbouring communities, working alongside soldiers stationed at the Supa Camp in Kuyallo, quickly organised a rescue effort and confronted the attackers. The security response reportedly forced the gunmen to retreat from the area.
Despite the intervention, the attackers escaped with the six abducted children.

The latest incident comes just days after another deadly attack in Birnin Gwari, where armed bandits reportedly killed several farmers and abducted nearly 20 others in Layin Danauta village. Local sources said the attackers stormed farmlands, opened fire on farmers, and kidnapped several men and women before fleeing the area.
The recurring attacks have heightened concerns over security in Birnin Gwari and surrounding communities, where residents continue to face threats from armed criminal groups.
