Two final-year students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) have reportedly been abducted by suspected kidnappers in Cross River State, raising fresh concerns over the security of students in the area.
The victims were identified as John Edet, a final-year student in the Department of Radiography, and Joy, a final-year Marketing student. They were reportedly seized by armed men during an attack and taken to an unknown location.
A female naval rating was also said to have been targeted during the incident but managed to escape. However, the attackers reportedly carted away her bag containing her identity card and other personal belongings before fleeing the scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the abduction were not immediately clear, and the whereabouts of the two students remained unknown at the time of the report.
