The Nigerian Armed Forces have recorded significant operational successes across the country in July, neutralising over 102 terrorists and rescuing 393 kidnapped victims during coordinated military offensives.
This was disclosed by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major-General Michael Onoja, during a press briefing held on Friday in Abuja.
According to him, troops also arrested 345 suspects and facilitated the surrender of 57 insurgents, including their family members.
Onoja revealed that the operations, conducted in collaboration with other security agencies and local vigilante groups, led to the recovery of 59 weapons and 1,811 rounds of ammunition.
He noted that sustained military pressure has continued to weaken the operational strength of terrorists, kidnappers, militias, and other criminal elements across various regions.
In the North-East, troops under Operation Hadin Kai recorded notable gains against Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters. Among those neutralised was a senior terrorist commander and propaganda figure, Abu Salim al-Barnawi, during a counter-operation in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
Similarly, in the North-West, Operation Fansan Yamma led to the rescue of 191 kidnap victims, the elimination of 33 terrorists, and the arrest of 66 suspects across Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, and Zamfara States.
Several kidnapping attempts were also foiled, with security forces recovering arms and components used in improvised explosive devices.

Operations in the North-Central region, including Savannah Shield, Enduring Peace, and Whirl Stroke, resulted in multiple arrests, recovery of weapons, and the rescue of abducted individuals, as troops intensified efforts against armed groups and criminal networks.
In the South-South, Operation Delta Safe dismantled 18 illegal refining sites and recovered over 250,000 litres of stolen petroleum products. Several suspects linked to oil theft and economic sabotage were also apprehended, particularly in Rivers State.
Meanwhile, troops of Operation Udo Ka sustained pressure on criminal elements and separatist agitators in the South-East, leading to the arrest of 26 suspects and the rescue of 10 civilians, alongside the recovery of weapons.
The Air Component of the Armed Forces also played a critical role, carrying out precision airstrikes on terrorist hideouts, particularly in Niger State, disrupting planned attacks and supporting ground operations.
Beyond combat operations, the military has continued to strengthen civil-military relations through community engagement initiatives, public health interventions, and development projects in affected regions.
The Defence Headquarters reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the ongoing offensives until all threats to national security are effectively neutralised.
