
Police in Kano State have detained a suspect following the death of an unidentified man whose body was discovered inside an unoccupied house in the Badawa area of the state.
The deceased, believed to be about 28 years old, was found with a deep injury to his neck. Residents said the victim was discovered after a neighbour noticed he was lying inside the vacant building and alerted the community leadership.
According to local residents, the police were quickly informed and arrived at the scene before emergency responders. Officers secured the area, arrested a suspect in connection with the incident, and moved the victim’s body to a hospital.

Residents said they did not recognise the deceased and described the incident as unusual, noting that nothing similar had happened in the neighbourhood before.
The Kano State Police Command confirmed that the matter is under investigation. Police spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the command would carry out a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
