A 37-year-old man, identified as Ziaulihak Zakari, has allegedly confessed to being hired for N500,000 to carry out an acid attack on a female spa worker in the Lakowe area of Lagos State.
The victim, Olorunseunfunmi Awosogbon, reportedly sustained serious injuries to her head, chest and hands after the incident, which occurred during a home service appointment in October 2025.
According to reports, the spa worker had responded to a service request at a residence near Lakowe Golf Gate in the Ibeju-Lekki area when the attack happened.
Investigations later suggested that the victim may not have been the intended target. The incident was allegedly linked to a personal dispute involving the spa owner and a former partner accused of arranging the assault.

Zakari, who was reportedly arrested months after the incident, allegedly admitted during interrogation that he was contacted through a security guard and offered money to carry out the attack.
The suspect was said to have claimed that he initially hesitated out of fear but later carried out the operation during another opportunity, mistakenly attacking the wrong person.
He further alleged that the corrosive substance used in the attack was provided by those who hired him and that part of the payment was shared with the intermediary who connected him to the deal.
Zakari and another suspect, identified as Owolabi Daniel, have since been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Ebute-Metta on charges bordering on conspiracy, threat to life and causing bodily harm.
Authorities said the case remains under investigation as legal proceedings continue.
