
A tragic road accident on Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge has claimed the life of a woman, with authorities confirming the arrest of one of the drivers involved in the crash.
The incident occurred at the Ilaje inward Iyana Oworo axis and involved two Toyota Sienna vehicles.
According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the collision was a head-on impact caused by reckless driving and excessive speeding.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, managing traffic and evacuating victims.
Sadly, an adult woman lost her life in the crash, while her 30-year-old daughter, who was in the same vehicle, survived the incident.

Officials revealed that one of the drivers fled immediately after the accident, while the other was apprehended on the spot and handed over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Reacting to the incident, LASTMA authorities reiterated the dangers of speeding and urged motorists to strictly obey traffic rules to prevent avoidable loss of lives.
The tragic event adds to growing concerns over road safety, as authorities continue to emphasize caution and responsibility among drivers.
