Shukurat Oladipo has been named the Serie A Femminile Best Defender of the Season after an outstanding campaign with AS Roma Women.
The Nigerian international received the award during a ceremony held on Monday night following her impressive performances throughout the season.
She was also selected in the Serie A Women’s Team of the Season after helping Roma win another league title.
Oladipo joined Roma from Robo Queens in February 2025 and quickly established herself as one of the club’s key defenders.
The 21-year-old made 18 league appearances and started 15 matches during the campaign. Roma recorded 12 clean sheets and remained unbeaten in games where the Nigerian defender featured.

Her defensive statistics highlighted her importance to the team, with 27 interceptions, 27 successful tackles, 70 clearances, and 104 ball recoveries across the season.
Oladipo’s strong form also earned her recognition alongside teammates Manuela Giugliano, Giada Greggi, and Giulia Dragoni in the league’s Team of the Season.
The defender previously played a role in Nigeria’s triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and is expected to remain an important figure for the Nigeria women’s national football team.
Roma will now focus on the Coppa Italia Femminile final against Juventus Women on May 24 as they aim to complete a domestic double.
