Six people has reportedly lost their lives in a fatal road accident along the Yola-Girei Road in Adamawa State.
The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the incident on Friday, stating that the victims were involved in a motor accident on the busy route.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, a preliminary report showed that six people died in the crash. The victims were taken to a hospital, where they were subsequently pronounced dead.
Following the incident, police personnel from the Girei Divisional Headquarters, Federal Housing and the Central Motor Traffic Division were deployed to the scene. Their intervention was aimed at evacuating the victims and restoring the free movement of vehicles along the road.

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, CP Kabir Hassan, expressed sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives and prayed for the repose of the deceased.
He also urged motorists to exercise caution while driving, obey traffic regulations and avoid excessive speeding to reduce the risk of further accidents.
The latest crash has raised fresh concerns about safety along the Yola-Girei Road, with reports indicating that it is the fourth major accident recorded on the route within the past month. More than 10 people have reportedly died in the crashes during the period.
