
Four National Youth Service Corps members and two others have died after a military gun truck collided head-on with a commercial bus in Adamawa State. The crash happened on Wednesday in the Narehi area of Girei Local Government Area along the Girei-Song Road.
According to the Adamawa State Police Command, the military vehicle was traveling from Gombi to Yola when it struck a commercial Hummer bus carrying five passengers from Yola to Mubi. Police spokesman Suleiman Nguroje said preliminary findings showed the impact caused the bus to somersault and burst into flames.
All five passengers in the bus were burnt to death. Police confirmed that four of them were serving NYSC members posted to Adamawa State. Two of the victims have been identified as Suleuman Juliet and Usman Shuaibu, both from Kaduna State. Efforts are ongoing to identify the remaining bodies.

A military personnel attached to the gun truck also died in the accident. The corpses have been evacuated to the Specialist Hospital in Yola. Authorities said they are working to locate the families of the deceased.
The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State extended condolences to the bereaved families, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the NYSC, and everyone affected by the tragedy.
