
Several shops were destroyed after a fire swept through Bode Market in the Molete area of Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday.
The fire, which broke out during the day, caused panic among traders and residents as thick smoke covered parts of the market. The cause of the incident was not immediately known.

Firefighters from the Oyo State Fire Service responded promptly and battled the blaze to prevent it from spreading to nearby shops and buildings. Their efforts helped bring the situation under control.
As of the time of this report, officials had not confirmed the number of shops affected or the value of goods lost in the fire. Authorities are expected to carry out an investigation to determine what caused the outbreak.
The incident is the second major market fire recorded in Ibadan within a few weeks, following a similar outbreak at Dugbe Market that also destroyed shops and properties.
