Security operatives have rescued two people who were abducted by suspected bandits during a joint operation in Gwamnare Forest, Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the Bauchi State Police Command, including the Violent Crime Response Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, conventional police officers, and members of the Forestry Guards.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar, the operation followed a directive from the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, to intensify efforts in communities recently affected by kidnapping and secure the release of victims.
The security team launched the operation after receiving reports of repeated abductions in Dogon Ruwa and Rafin Chiyawa villages around the Gwamnare Forest. The rescue mission was initiated following a situation report received at the Ningi Police Division on July 1.
