The General Overseer of Living Christ Mission, Obiajunwa Onukogu, popularly known as Daddy Hezekiah, has been accused of sexually abusing two women when they were minors and members of a church group more than two decades ago.
The allegations were made in separate written testimonies by Kelechi Ibe, 39, and Onyekachi J. Eze, 40, who said they decided to speak publicly about their experiences after years of silence.
According to the women, the alleged incidents occurred in the 1990s when they belonged to the “Princess of Daddy Hezekiah,” a group for young girls that participated in church programmes in Port Harcourt, Onitsha and the church headquarters in Nkwerre, Imo State.
They alleged that parents often left their children under the supervision of church officials after the opening days of conventions, with the young members remaining until the programmes ended.
Ibe alleged that the abuse began when she was about 12 or 13 years old and occurred repeatedly during church conventions.
She claimed that she and other girls were summoned to the cleric’s private quarters on the pretext of checking whether they had remained virgins, where she alleged they were subjected to inappropriate sexual touching.
According to her testimony, the girls were warned against discussing what happened with their parents or other members of the group.
Ibe said she eventually opened up about her experience after discussing it with her sister, who had also been a member of the group. The two reportedly discovered similarities in their experiences.

Eze, meanwhile, alleged that her experience began during a church visit to Onitsha and continued after she became a member of the same group in Port Harcourt.
The women claimed that they later discovered similarities between their experiences and believed that other former members may have had similar encounters.
They identified several former members whom they said had also spoken about their experiences, including Nkechi Nwofor, Angela Michael, Sopuruchukwu, Nkiru Arum, Vivian Nmezi and Ihegboro Chibuzo.
The alleged victims said the experiences had lasting emotional consequences and expressed hope that speaking out would encourage other survivors to seek support and come forward.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Onukogu nor the Living Christ Mission had issued an official response to the allegations.
