Security forces have arrested a suspected informant accused of providing information to bandits following a reported N10 million threat issued to residents of Romo village in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The suspect, identified as Ashiru Abubakar from Gumfa Gebe village in Wamakko Local Government Area, was reportedly arrested over alleged links with criminal elements operating around communities in Tambuwal.
The development was disclosed in a Wednesday post by North-West crisis reporter Bakatsine on his X handle.
According to the report, residents of Romo village were allegedly given an ultimatum to pay N10 million or risk an attack by the bandits.
