The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers and recovered suspected counterfeit United States dollars during separate operations in parts of the state.
The arrests followed intelligence-led operations carried out by police operatives in Bauchi metropolis, Darazo and Yana.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu.
In Bauchi metropolis, three suspects were arrested after a 19-year-old resident of Fadan Bayak, Jahun, reported that he was attacked at about 9pm on Tuesday.
The victim said three men allegedly held a knife to his neck and took his Tecno Pop 9 phone valued at N80,000.

Following the report, police detectives traced the suspects to a room in Unguwar Ardo, where they arrested 18-year-old Usman Aliyu, Usman Musa and Aliyu Babangida.
Three knives, including the one allegedly used during the robbery, were recovered.
The suspects later led the police to the residence of another 18-year-old suspect, Usman Adamu, where the stolen phone was found.
Police said one of the suspects had previously been convicted. The four suspects remain in custody and are expected to face prosecution.
In Darazo, detectives arrested 25-year-old Adamu Umar from Jigawa State over an alleged attempt to exchange counterfeit US dollars for naira around Nahutan.
Police recovered 67 suspected fake dollar notes, a machete and a Tecno keypad phone. Two other suspects reportedly escaped.
According to the police, Umar allegedly attacked and injured an officer with the machete during his arrest.
He also reportedly attempted to escape while being taken to the police station on a motorcycle, causing injuries to himself and two officers. The injured persons were treated and discharged from the General Hospital in Darazo.
In another incident in Yana, Shira Local Government Area, two men, Tanimu Garba, 42, and Habibu Ahmed, 38, were arrested over alleged criminal conspiracy, cheating and possession of suspected counterfeit currency.
Police said a 42-year-old man from Agege, Lagos State, travelled to Yana after the two suspects allegedly invited him for a foreign exchange transaction.
The man reportedly transferred N4.449 million to an account provided by the suspects. He alleged that they later attacked him with sticks, gave him suspected counterfeit $100 notes and escaped into a nearby bush.
Police said 96 suspected counterfeit $100 notes were recovered from Garba’s residence.
The cases have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further investigation and prosecution.
The police advised residents to be cautious when carrying out foreign exchange transactions and urged them to use licensed and verifiable channels.
