The Anambra State Police Command has deployed officers to schools and strategic locations across the state as students return for the new academic session.
The deployment, carried out under the Inspector General of Police’s Safe School Initiative, is aimed at preventing security threats, protecting students and ensuring safe movement around schools during peak hours.
Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga said officers would maintain visible presence around schools, educate students on personal safety, assist with road crossings and respond promptly to security concerns.

The Commissioner of Police, Nnanna Oji Ama, urged parents, teachers and students to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons or activities to the police.
He also stressed that protecting schools is a shared responsibility involving security agencies, school authorities, parents and host communities.
