Several people have been rescued after five vehicles were involved in a multiple-vehicle crash on Otedola Bridge, inward Berger, Lagos State.
The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon and involved two trucks, a trailer, a white Honda car and a Lexus.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, said its LRT Tiger Squad was mobilised at about 1:18 p.m. following a distress call and arrived at the scene approximately 10 minutes later.
Preliminary findings showed that a containerised truck suffered a mechanical failure while in motion, causing its driver to lose control and crash into three other vehicles.

Another truck later collided with the vehicles, resulting in a pile-up.
LASEMA said its emergency response operation was carried out in collaboration with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, and the Nigeria Police Force.
Paramedics provided emergency treatment to affected victims at the scene before evacuating them to the Trauma Centre for further medical attention.
The agency said no death was recorded in the accident, while recovery operations continued with private towing vehicles and a crane deployed to clear the damaged vehicles and restore normal traffic flow.
LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, commended the emergency responders and other agencies for their prompt response.
He urged motorists, especially operators of heavy-duty and articulated vehicles, to regularly maintain their vehicles, obey road safety regulations and exercise caution on major highways.
LASEMA also advised residents to report emergencies through the toll-free 767 or 112 lines.
