The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers in connection with the abduction and killing of a 17-year-old Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidate, Thompson Adams, in the Ikorodu area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, disclosed the development on Wednesday while briefing journalists at the command headquarters in Ikeja.
According to Tijani, the suspects identified as Elijah Emmanuel (23) and Tony Ogenata (21) were apprehended on Monday around 8:00 p.m. following actionable intelligence.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the tragic incident occurred on April 22, 2026, shortly after the victim had completed his examination. Adams, who was reportedly a former schoolmate of the suspects, was lured to their residence, where he was killed.

The police further disclosed that the suspects concealed the victim’s body in a bag before disposing of it within the community.
In a disturbing twist, further interrogation linked the suspects to an earlier crime involving the abduction and murder of a female victim in November 2025. The victim, said to be the girlfriend of one of the suspects, was kidnapped and a ransom of ₦300,000 was demanded from her family.
Despite receiving the ransom, the suspects allegedly proceeded to kill her.
The Commissioner confirmed that the suspects will be charged in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
This incident adds to growing concerns over rising violent crimes involving young individuals in parts of Lagos State.
