
The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber, apprehended two alleged housebreakers, and recovered a stolen vehicle in a series of coordinated operations across the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, disclosed this while briefing journalists on Wednesday, highlighting the command’s recent successes in tackling criminal activities.
According to Abdullahi, one Micah Nuhu was arrested in connection with a robbery incident involving a woman identified as Mama Kingsley Joseph.
The suspect allegedly attacked the victim with a pestle and made away with her purse. The stolen item has since been recovered.
The victim was rushed to Cottage Hospital in Bambam for treatment, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. Police say efforts are ongoing to apprehend an accomplice identified as Mubarak, who remains at large.
In a separate operation, two suspects, Nasiru Aminu (40) and Jamiu Muhammad (33), were arrested at a suspected criminal hideout in the Tumfure area of Akko Local Government Area.

The duo were reportedly found in possession of 39 master keys and a screwdriver believed to be tools used for housebreaking.
“The suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine their involvement in other criminal activities,” Abdullahi stated.
Meanwhile, the command also recovered a Toyota Yaris reportedly stolen from one Sani Ahmed. The victim was allegedly attacked and stabbed by assailants, who then pushed him out of his vehicle near Tumu-Kashere Junction before fleeing.
Ahmed was taken to a Specialist Hospital for medical attention, while the recovered vehicle has been secured at a police facility. The SCID has commenced investigation into the incident.
