
The Gombe State Police Command has uncovered 119 rounds of live 7.62mm AK-47 ammunition concealed in a sack along Kalshingi Road in Kwadon, Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area.
According to the command’s spokesman, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the recovery followed credible information received by the Divisional Police Officer of Kwadon Division around 10:30 a.m. on May 19, 2026. The tip-off revealed that a suspicious white sack had been hidden under a tree opposite a graveyard.

Officers immediately moved to the location, recovered the sack, and found it contained 119 rounds of live ammunition, two empty ammunition packets, two bottles of moringa seeds, and one green bag. No suspect was arrested at the scene, but police combed the surrounding bushes and adjoining areas after the discovery.
The Commissioner of Police, Bello Yahaya, commended residents for providing timely information and urged the public to remain vigilant. He appealed to citizens to continue sharing intelligence with security agencies to curb insecurity and protect lives and property across the state.
