The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old man, Adeniyi Benjamin, for allegedly operating an unlicensed medical facility and treating patients without the required medical qualifications or licence for about seven years.
Benjamin was reportedly arrested on October 2, 2026, by operatives of the Command Monitoring Unit at his facility, Life Is Good Hospital, in the Olodo area of Ibadan.
According to the police, the arrest followed intelligence about his activities at the clinic. Investigators alleged that the suspect was attending to patients and administering treatments, including fertility-related treatments, despite not being a certified medical doctor.
Items recovered from the facility included two weighing scales, four Quantum Magnetic Resonance Body Analysers, a stethoscope, assorted medicines and specimen bottles.

The police said preliminary investigations showed that Benjamin admitted operating as a quack practitioner for about seven years without a licence to practise medicine.
The command warned members of the public about the dangers of seeking treatment from unqualified practitioners, particularly for sensitive medical conditions such as fertility-related issues.
Police said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the alleged activities and whether other individuals were involved.
Residents were also advised to verify the qualifications and registration status of anyone offering medical services before entrusting them with their health or that of their loved ones.
