
At least three people, including an expatriate and two security operatives, were killed after suspected Lakurawa terrorists attacked a construction site in Kebbi State.
The attack occurred at a construction site in Gubba Village, Andarai District, Maiyama Local Government Area, along the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway.
The Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Bashir Usman, said the attackers were suspected to have come from the Kebbe axis of neighbouring Sokoto State.
According to him, the gunmen stormed the construction site and opened fire on workers, killing the expatriate involved in the road construction project and two security personnel.
Two civilians also sustained gunshot wounds during the attack and were taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Usman disclosed that another attack was recorded the same day around the Birnin Malam axis but was repelled by police teams.
He said joint security forces had been deployed to the affected areas, with tactical teams working to strengthen security and prevent further attacks.
Construction activities at the affected site have been suspended following the incident, while security agencies have increased surveillance and deployed more personnel.
The police assured workers on the project of continued protection and urged them to remain calm as security efforts continue to safeguard lives and property.
