
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a man, identified as Amos Paul, over the alleged abuse of his 10-year-old daughter in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the suspect was taken into custody following a report of the incident on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Preliminary findings revealed that the man allegedly inflicted serious injuries on the child as punishment for bedwetting.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo, where she is currently receiving medical attention.

Police operatives from the ‘A’ Division in Owo responded swiftly after the report, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Authorities confirmed that the case will be transferred to the Gender Unit for further investigation and necessary legal action.
The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State condemned the act, describing it as cruel and unacceptable. He reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting children and other vulnerable individuals from abuse and violence.
The police also urged members of the public to promptly report cases of child abuse and domestic violence, assuring that offenders will be brought to justice.
