
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected cultists and recovered firearms and ammunition during a security operation in the Ajanmgbadi area of Ojo Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Emmanuel Nwokolo, Ayola Israel, Ebuka Nnamdi, and Chinedu Okafor, were apprehended following intelligence reports that led operatives to a hotel in the area.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, preliminary investigations linked the suspects to alleged cult-related activities and violent crimes within Ajanmgbadi and neighbouring communities.
Police said a video allegedly showing the killing of unidentified persons was recovered from one of the suspects’ mobile phones, providing further leads for investigators.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly admitted to being members of the Aiye Confraternity, a cult group allegedly involved in violent activities across parts of the state.

A subsequent search conducted by the operatives led to the recovery of two locally fabricated pistols, one revolver pistol, and 13 live cartridges believed to have been used in criminal operations.
The command stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement in criminal activities and to identify other members of the group who may still be at large.
Police authorities assured residents of their commitment to maintaining security across the state and urged members of the public to continue providing useful information to aid crime-fighting efforts.
The suspects are expected to be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
