Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a fleeing trailer driver alongside four accomplices over their alleged involvement in a stolen truck syndicate.
The suspects, identified as Temitope Odulaja (47), Segun Suleiman (27), Haruna Olaogun (49), Jimoh Wasiu (42), and Quazzim Suleiman (49), were apprehended following an intelligence-driven operation by detectives from the Ifo Division.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the case originated from a complaint filed by the trailer owner at the Ifo Divisional Headquarters.
The complainant reported that his driver had absconded with the vehicle on June 6, 2026, with all attempts to trace him proving unsuccessful.
Acting swiftly, the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Olabisi Kamorudeen, led a team of detectives who deployed technical and intelligence resources to track the suspect.
Their efforts paid off on July 24, 2026, when the fleeing driver was traced to Ikorodu, Lagos State, and subsequently arrested.

Further investigation led to the arrest of four additional suspects in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, believed to be part of a criminal network specializing in dismantling stolen trailers and selling off their components.
Preliminary findings revealed that the stolen trailer was quickly disassembled after it was taken, with parts unlawfully distributed. Police operatives have recovered some components of the vehicle, which have been documented as evidence.
Authorities say efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining parts, identify other members of the syndicate, and determine the full scope of their operations.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers involved for their professionalism, describing the operation as a major breakthrough in combating organized vehicle theft.
He also urged transport operators, logistics companies, and members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
The suspects are expected to be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
