
Troops of Sector 1, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have foiled an attempted kidnapping and rescued four minors in Agingi, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at about 5:45 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, when the troops responded to information that suspected kidnappers had targeted four children who were returning from the farm.

The swift intervention of the security personnel reportedly forced the suspected kidnappers to flee, allowing the troops to rescue the children.
The rescued minors were identified as 15-year-old Happy Pius, 13-year-old David Monday, 14-year-old Mercy Pius and 13-year-old Joy Monday.
Following their rescue, the children were reunited with their families.
Security forces have since commenced efforts to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
The incident highlights the importance of prompt security response and timely information from residents, particularly in rural communities where children and other vulnerable residents may be exposed to kidnapping threats.
