A young woman, Damilola Adisa, alongside her siblings, has raised alarm over alleged intimidation, threats, and attempts to forcefully take over their late father’s property in Ibafo, Ogun State.
Adisa, who hails from Osun State but was raised in Ibafo, recounted the tragic circumstances that left her and her siblings orphaned at a young age.
According to her, their mother passed away in 2012, while their father was murdered in 2015 after being lured out by unknown assailants.
The family’s only inheritance, she said, is a parcel of land located at No. 10, Surakatu Okunola Street, Mogede, Qwara Quarters, Ibafo, where their late father built a house and was buried.
Despite the property’s deteriorating condition due to flooding, the siblings have refused multiple offers to sell, citing its emotional significance.
Trouble reportedly began in April 2025 when the family received information that unknown individuals had entered the property. Upon visiting the site, Adisa and her sister allegedly found workers demolishing part of their father’s burial ground while laying a new foundation.
A man, whose name was withheld, reportedly claimed ownership of the land and supervised the activity.
The matter was reported to the police, leading to the suspect’s arrest. However, Adisa alleged that the suspect threatened to harm her and her siblings while in custody and vowed to take over the property.

She further claimed that the suspect was later released on the directive of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ibafo Police Station without any formal undertaking, prompting the family to petition the Zone 2 Police Command.
According to Adisa, the situation escalated on June 10 when police officers allegedly visited her residence, attempted to compel her to report to the station, and confiscated her phone. She added that the officers returned on subsequent occasions, insisting on her arrest.
Fearing for their safety, the siblings have reportedly gone into hiding at an undisclosed location.
Reacting to the allegations, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed that a case involving one Nojeem Solanke and others is under investigation.
She stated that the suspects were accused of damaging the deceased’s grave and carting away building materials valued at N2.75 million.
According to the police, the case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, following a petition to the Commissioner of Police.
The command also noted that efforts to invite the complainant for further questioning have not been successful.
As of the time of filing this report, the dispute remains unresolved, with the family calling on relevant authorities to intervene and ensure justice is served.
