
The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, FNSE, F.ASCE, FAEng., MFR, has congratulated the newly elected Executive Committee of the NSE Trans-Amadi Branch, urging it to sustain the path of development and build on the branch’s achievements over the years.
Engr. Rabiu gave the charge when the new executive committee, led by its Chairman, Engr. Godwin Woha, FNSE, paid a courtesy visit to the NSE National Secretariat.
The NSE President congratulated Woha and members of his executive on their election, expressing confidence in their ability to consolidate the progress recorded by the branch.
He recalled the cordial relationship that has existed between the Trans-Amadi Branch and the NSE National Headquarters, noting that the branch has continued to play an important role in the activities and development of the Society.
The President said the NSE Council was proud of the progress made by the Trans-Amadi Branch and urged the new leadership to maintain the momentum while exploring more opportunities to contribute to the advancement of the engineering profession.
The NSE President also called on the branch to intensify its mobilisation and registration efforts for the 2026 International Engineering Conference scheduled to take place in Maiduguri.
He stressed the importance of encouraging more engineers from the branch to register and participate in the conference, saying such participation would provide opportunities for professional interaction, knowledge sharing and networking among engineers across the country.

Engr. Rabiu further encouraged the new executive to continue strengthening its relationship with the national secretariat and ensure that the branch remains aligned with the broader objectives of the Society.
Earlier, the Chairman of the NSE Trans-Amadi Branch, Engr. Godwin Woha, FNSE, said the visit marked the first formal visit of the newly elected executive committee to the NSE National Headquarters.
Woha said the visit was aimed at cementing the existing relationship between the branch and the national secretariat, as well as seeking guidance, mentorship and support from the national leadership.
According to him, the branch considers its relationship with the NSE Headquarters important to the successful implementation of its programmes and initiatives.
He expressed the commitment of his administration to working closely with the national leadership and contributing meaningfully to the growth of the Society and the engineering profession.
The courtesy visit also provided an opportunity for the two sides to exchange views on professional development, membership mobilisation, institutional collaboration and initiatives aimed at strengthening the engineering profession.
