
The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of the Black Axe confraternity and recovered an AK-47 rifle, two pump-action guns and ammunition during separate operations across the state.
The command said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to tackle kidnapping, armed robbery and cult-related activities in Delta State.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team raided a suspected criminal hideout in Uduere Community, Ughelli North Local Council, on October 4, following intelligence on suspected kidnappers and armed robbers.
The suspects reportedly opened fire on the police but later fled the area following the police response. A search of the hideout led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, 55 rounds of live ammunition, a pump-action gun, seven cartridges, a knife, a cutlass and a mobile phone.

In a separate operation on October 5, the Quick Response Squad reportedly stormed a location along Ekrakra Road, Kokori, where suspected members of the Black Axe confraternity were allegedly holding a meeting.
Although several suspects fled, police arrested three men identified as Uzubu Ufuoma, 33; Solomon Ovie, 27; and Remember Emuere, 31.
Police later recovered another pump-action gun from an abandoned building in Okodjerhe Village, Kokori, which was allegedly linked to the group.
The three suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects.
