
The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, FNSE, F.ASCE, FAEng., MFR, has commended the NSE Abuja Branch for its commitment to professional development and capacity building, particularly among young engineers.
Rabiu gave the commendation when the newly elected Executive Committee of the NSE Abuja Branch, led by its Chairman, Engr. Oliver U. Eze, FNSE, paid a courtesy visit to the NSE National Headquarters.
The NSE President also applauded the branch for its stakeholder engagement initiatives, describing them as timely, educative and focused on proffering practical solutions to issues affecting society.
He urged the Abuja Branch to strengthen collaboration with other NSE branches within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to develop lasting engineering solutions to the perennial flooding challenges in Abuja.

Engr. Rabiu congratulated the new executive committee, noting that the Abuja Branch had, over the years, established a reputation for excellence and professional leadership.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Abuja Branch, Engr. Oliver U. Eze, FNSE, said the visit was primarily to familiarise the new executive committee with the NSE leadership following their recent election. He also reaffirmed the branch’s support for the NSE President’s RESET Agenda, pledging to align the branch’s activities with the broader objectives of the national leadership.
Eze outlined the strategic focus of his administration, which includes professional development and capacity building for members; mentorship programmes for young engineers; policy advocacy for national development; stakeholder engagement; membership mobilisation and welfare; as well as the provision of corporate services to communities within Abuja.
He said the branch would continue to promote initiatives that strengthen the engineering profession while contributing to the development and wellbeing of the Federal Capital Territory.
