The village head of Aujarawar Alkali in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Alhaji Ahmad Yakubu Ahmad, has been found dead several days after he was abducted by suspected bandits.
Ahmad was reportedly taken from his residence on September 17 after the attackers invaded the community during the night.
His remains were later discovered inside a shallow grave in Danladin Gezawa, according to a resident of the area, Musa Garba.
Garba told journalists that residents found the grave four days later and alerted members of the community.
He said he attended the funeral prayers for the deceased on Wednesday afternoon.

According to him, the victim was allegedly tortured before he was killed, with his remains showing signs of severe injuries when they were recovered.
Garba added that Ahmad’s wife identified the remains after they were taken to a hospital.
The resident said the body had already started decomposing when it was recovered and was later buried after the hospital confirmed the death.
As of the time of filing the report, the Kano State Police Command had not released an official statement concerning the incident.
