
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 27-year-old man over an alleged attempt to steal a commercial tricycle in Kano State.
The suspect, identified as Nasiru Sulaiman, is said to be from Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State. He was apprehended following an attempted theft along IBB Road in Kano.
According to the NSCDC, the suspect allegedly deceived the tricycle rider by sending him on an errand. While the rider was away, Sulaiman reportedly disconnected the ignition key and attempted to drive the tricycle away.
His actions, however, raised suspicion among residents in the area, who quickly intervened and prevented him from escaping with the vehicle.

The vigilant residents apprehended the suspect before handing him over to NSCDC operatives for further investigation.
The corps said its investigation into the incident has been concluded and confirmed that the suspect will be arraigned in court to face prosecution in line with the law.
The NSCDC also commended members of the public for their vigilance and cooperation, noting that timely intervention by residents played a crucial role in foiling the alleged theft and ensuring the suspect was brought into custody.
