
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara State has arrested a 58-year-old man accused of being involved in the sale of illegal drugs for more than two decades.
The suspect, identified as Emmanuel Okonkwo, was arrested during an operation in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of the state at about 11:30pm on September 10, 2026.
The NSCDC also arrested nine other suspects in separate operations over alleged vandalism, theft and destruction of government property.
The suspects were paraded at the NSCDC headquarters in Gusau on Monday.
According to the command, Okonkwo allegedly admitted operating a chemist in Birnin Magaji for over 20 years and claimed to have worked with two accomplices, identified as Yellow and Sadiq, who are currently at large.

He allegedly confessed to selling substances including cannabis, Tramadol, Exol 5 and Diazepam tablets.
In the separate case involving the other suspects, the NSCDC said they were allegedly involved in removing roofing materials from government property and attempting to bribe village heads.
The command said the suspects confessed to the alleged offences, while investigations into the cases are still ongoing.
