A multiple-vehicle road accident has occurred along the Onitsha–Enugu Expressway, around the Awkuzu axis of Anambra State, involving a trailer, a Sino truck and several other vehicles.
According to eyewitnesses, the collision caused some of the vehicles to lose control, with some cars reportedly plunging into the roadside drainage.
A driver of one of the delivery vans was said to have been trapped behind the steering wheel following the impact.
Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) stationed around Awkuzu Junction, alongside other Good Samaritans, responded to the scene and successfully rescued the trapped driver alive.

The driver was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital by FRSC officials for medical attention.
The vehicle reportedly believed to have caused the accident was said to have fled the scene before the arrival of the road safety personnel.
Following the crash, FRSC officials worked to clear the affected section of the expressway and restore the free flow of traffic, as the incident had caused significant congestion in the area.
No death was recorded as of the time of filing this report.
Motorists using the Onitsha–Enugu Expressway, particularly around the Awkuzu axis, are advised to exercise caution, reduce their speed and remain vigilant while approaching the area.
